Gastroesophageal Reflux Diagnosis and Treatment Center

Our Gastroesophageal Reflux Diagnosis and Treatment Center is the first in the country to introduce advanced foreign instruments and equipment related to gastroesophageal reflux. These include minimally invasive surgical equipment for gastroesophageal reflux, 24-hour esophageal pH and impedance monitoring devices, 96-hour wireless esophageal pH capsule (Bravo capsule), esophageal pressure measuring instruments (Manoscan), 3D gastric endoscopy system, and capsule endoscopy equipment. These advancements address the existing bottlenecks in domestic gastroesophageal reflux diagnosis and treatment, particularly in leading the introduction and teaching of minimally invasive gastroesophageal reflux procedures such as Stretta (radiofrequency ablation of the lower esophageal sphincter) and endoscopic gastric fundoplication. Not only do these innovations contribute to the advancement of the medical field, but they also provide a breakthrough for patients who have been experiencing long-term ineffectiveness with medication.

Wireless Gastric Acid Monitoring Capsule (Bravo capsule)
By placing the Bravo capsule in the esophagus near the lower esophageal sphincter using an endoscope, it can effectively monitor the reflux of gastric acid into the esophagus for 48 to 96 hours. This enables accurate identification of false reflux and facilitates effective treatment.

High-Resolution Esophageal Pressure Monitoring (Manoscan, HRIM)
Aligned with the guidelines from Chicago, USA, this advanced technology detects changes in esophageal pressure and peristaltic function using a slender catheter. It accurately diagnoses esophageal motility disorders, keeping pace with international standards.

Innovative Endoscopic Minimally Invasive Treatment: Endoscopic Gastric Fundoplication.
In the past, anti-reflux mucosal resection procedures carried the risk of bleeding and narrowing, with a recovery time of two months. Our institution has improved upon this technique by developing the endoscopic gastric fundoplication, reducing complications.

The center is full of innovation and the spirit of daring to improve patient issues. It has obtained the SNQ National Quality Certification in both 2021 and 2022 through national accreditation.
