Technological Innovation and Stage-Based Approach in Wound Healing: The Transformation of Hyperbaric Oxygen Center

Acronym: “TISB-WH” (Technological Innovation / Transformers in Stage-Based Wound Healing)

The features of this Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Oxygen Center are(1) the construction of staged wound healing based on the in-depth understanding of wound healing, and (2) the art of wound healing. The center has also established a model for DIY wound care to highlight the innovation of remote wound care management and the creation of the Ragic data management database. The Ragic data management database is used to manage the wound care network a teach ward unit in the center. The correct and efficient technology application enables a large amount of wound data to be managed electronically. The center aims to promote the medical integration of wound staging. It provides different treatment, and wound dressing change frequency depending on different stages of wounds, so that wounds of varied levels can gradually heal in the most appropriate way and time. Given the fact that the staged wound treatment is highlighted, the center creates many miracles as if transformers fight against difficult and changeable wounds in the wound universe. This center has become a role model for comprehensive wound care. Patients who suffer from acute wounds such as surgical wounds and burns, as well as chronic wounds such as leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers (DFU), and pressure ulcer-related condition scan be effectively treated through our interdisciplinary teams. Clinically, the infection rate was significantly reduced, and the wound healing time (in days) was also significantly shortened after wound treatment. The monthly wound healing rate at the center reached 9.1%, and the monthly amputation rate was 0.1%.The center has held many free clinic tours with social organizations to spread wound treatment to all corners of Taiwan. The center and out-of-hospital R&D institutions are committed to developing effective and safe medical dressings, which can benefit patients’ choice of medication and improve the quality of wound care.
