Precautions for Peripheral Arterial Angioplasty- via the wrist

  1. The wrist incision will be compressed with a hemostatic device and protective gear for 6-8 hours. If you notice bleeding through the dressing or experience coldness, discoloration, or pain in the fingertips, please inform the nurse immediately to apply additional pressure for hemostasis.
  2. After the procedure, you can eat and engage in activities such as getting out of bed.
  3. Keep the wound clean and dry. Some bruising may occur near the wound, and it will gradually fade within two to three weeks. Any slight discomfort at the wound site will also subside during this time.
  4. Observe the wound for signs of redness, swelling, heat, bleeding, swelling, or purulent discharge. If you notice any abnormal symptoms, seek immediate medical attention at the outpatient clinic or emergency room.
  5. Within one week after returning home, you can engage in light activities except for lifting objects weighing more than 2 kilograms with the limb on the puncture side.
