Mammography is a low-dose X-ray photography and used for the following: breast disease follow-up examination, female aged 45 to 70 or over 40 with the family breast cancer history, tumor was inspected by palpation or sonography, and positioning before breast surgery.
為一種低劑量X光顯影，適用於以下情形：乳房疾病追蹤、45-70歲或40歲以上有家族病史婦女、觸診或以超音波檢查發現有乳房腫塊病患、及乳房手術前定位等。
Inspection method檢查方式：
The examination will be performed by a female radiologist. Place the breast on the examination table first, then pressure on the breast with a clear plastic flat plate and it can causes pain. This is to average the thickness of the breast, so that the breast tissue can be evenly displayed on the X-ray, avoiding tissue overlap, so that small lesions will not be blocked by excessively thick tissue, and to reduce the radiation dose required for the examination. This compression method also prevents image blur caused by movement, thereby improving image quality.
檢查時會有女性專業放射師來操作整個過程。將乳房托放在X光檢查台上，並用透明塑膠材質的平板壓迫在乳房上，此動作有時會造成疼痛不適的感覺，但有其絕對的必要性，因為要使乳房厚度平均，才能使乳房內部組織均勻的顯示在X光片上（避免乳房內部組織重疊）並降低輻射劑量，且對於微小病變才不被過厚的組織掩蓋住。此壓迫方式也能防止因移動而造成的影像模糊，以提高影像品質。
Notification 注意事項：
- Notify the doctor before the examination if any of the followings: family and patient’s cancer history, taking hormonal drugs, breast surgery- breast implants or any material,
需告知醫生之前是否動過手術，尤其是水袋、小針美容；是否服用荷爾蒙，是否有家族或個人癌症史。
- Notify the radiologist if any of the followings: mass, pain or itching in both breasts.
讓放射師了解乳房左右邊是否有硬塊、疼痛或搔癢處。
- It would be uncomfortable of the breasts in the first 10 days of the menstrual cycle, so it is better to have the mammography examination after 10 days from that.
乳房攝影盡量不要排在月經前10天，在這段期間做檢查通常會感到異常疼痛，最好的時機是月經後10天。
- Tell the doctor or the radiologist if you are/ might pregnant.
如果您可能已經懷孕，必須告知醫師或做檢查的放射師。
- Please do not use fragrance, talcum powder or lotion on the armpit or chest on the day of the examination to avoid false calcification on the X-ray examination.
檢查當天請不要在腋下、胸前使用芳香劑、滑石粉或乳液，因可能在x光片上出現鈣化點。
- Take of underwear and jewelry on the upper body and put on the examination clothes.
取下上半身的飾品、貼身衣物，並換上檢查衣。
- Tie up long hair to avoid interfere the examination results.
長髮病人必須綁髮，避免影響影像，造成誤判。
